Where are the Landes?

The Landes stretches from the cities of Bayonne, Anglet and Biarritz in the Basque Country to the southern part of Gironde (Bordeaux). It offers the nicest sandy beaches of the south west of France, and the largest pine forest in Europe. Our holiday rentals are located in the south coast of the Landes, between the cities of Moliets (north) and Labenne (south).

The stretch of coast

The Landes’ beaches face the Atlantic Ocean in what is called the Bay of Biscay. They are famous hosting some of the beach breaks waves and attract numerous surfers enjoying a surf trip in Aquitaine. In Autumn each year, a stage of the World Championship of surfing is organised Hossegor and Seignosse.

You will find in the Landes a large range of holiday rentals, from the studio appartment next to the beach to the quiet house with a swimming pool bordering one a of the prestigious golf courses

The Landes’ spirit

Each town and village in the south west of France will host a « Feria » during summer. These festivals will last from one week-end to a full week (Bayonne, Dax, Mont de Marsan), rythmed by the “Bandas”, corridas and Courses Landaises preparing for a night long party. Your holidays in the Landes can also resonate with sports: beside the beach activities, you will enjoy one of the numerous bycicle tracks in the pines or attend to a rugby game, or a Basque Pelota tournament. Don’t forget to relish from the food treasures the south west of France can offer in your holiday rental’s kitchen: foie gras (duck liver), magret (duck breast fillet)...
